Footballers are breaking hearts yet again!

16 09 2008

so i am a broncos supporter. i cheered along with my nana on friday night for the broncs to bring home a win over the roosters, along with countless other queenslanders. but once again elite footballers have found themselves in hot water over an alcohol induced incident. karmichael hunt, darius boyd and sam thiaday (thats wrong… but i forgot how to spell his last name) were all named in a complaint to police by a woman who alleges they were indecent towards her and engaged in sexual intercourse/oral sex (depending on which paper you read) on saturday night.

why do rugby players, cricketers and afl players think they can keep acting like this?

i read in the paper today (the courier mail) that in a course that teaches young sportsmen how to act in the public forum that they equate exposure with talent. when talking about a female australian basketball player, the rugby player was asked why the basketball players were less likely to recieve media attention. his comment was “they are not as talented or as high profile so we get the attention”. when it was pointed out to him that this basketball player was probably 20th in australia in a global sport, and he was probably 255th in a sport that was virtually only played by one or two countries, what made him think he was more talented? he replied, “i get paid more”

seriously.

when andrew johns made it known to the country that he had been a drug abuser for the last 10 years of his football career, a few tears on national tv got him off the hook! this confirms to all young people that it is ok to take drugs! when marion jones, wendell sailor and adam mcdougal were all put on a ban for drug offences they were crucified by the public and media. ben cousins had his afl awards taken away from him and was all but banned from the sport!  why was andrew johns’ dally m medal not taken away??

anyway. this is all getting me worked up. afraid i am just not in the right frame of mind to write this! its all comming out jibberish…

sorry!

Karmichael Hunt approached a girl in a Valley club and his ” advances ” were knocked back and his response was to call her a mole and other related names. The Broncos have long been known to be idiots when out on the town at many venues. The club has tolerated their players stupid behaviour for way too long and it’s about time they took a firm stance and got rid of the idiots. No more sweeping it under the carpet anymore and trying to hide the players public stupidity anymore. The Broncos are not the gods and hunks they think they are. They have lost more supporter in several of us … we are sick of their behaviour at the clubs.
